Life of Christ Play
In May of 2012 and 2013, seventy-five actors and one theater director- all inmates at Louisiana State Penitentiary, Angola and Louisiana Correctional Institute for Women - came together to put on the performance of their lives. Before a crowd of free people, these inmate actors performed the “Life of Jesus Christ” in the largest prison run theatrical event ever. The Life of Jesus Christ Play became the backdrop of the documentary, Cast the First Stone, directed by filmmaker Jonathan Stack. The actors' lives and the film weave together to tell a powerful tale of redemption and forgiveness.
